JG LaFleur comes from a family with diverse musical backgrounds, and is rooted in church, Creole and southern culture. She was raised in Houston, Texas. As a child she was filled with wit and charisma which gained her success in pageantry.
Her parents recognized her vocal abilities at the tender age of three. She began singing solos at church and singing in the school choir. JG started learning the piano at age five, and learned various techniques in singing and on the keyboard under the tutelage of critically acclaimed recording artists such as Bettye Ramsey Nelson and Shirley and Rise’ Joiner.
JG is distinguished in academia and received scholarships from the Houston Trial Lawyers as early as primary school. She was recognized for her achievements on national television. She later graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
JG also has education and experience as a sound engineer. She graduated with honors with an Associate of Science in Audio Recording Technology from Houston Community College. She participated in live recordings with several notable artists, and has worked with many artists in Texas and surrounding states.
JG has released several jazz and neo soul covers which are available on audio and video streaming platforms. She is currently working in the media arts industry and is in the process of writing and producing new material. JG’s diverse background, love for music, boundless creativity and desire to uplift others fuels her musical endeavors.
